Luma makes you think — at the right time
Most AI does the homework. Luma does the opposite. It shows up when you are already in the work, and it nudges you to think.
The timing is the whole product. A hint before you have tried is a lecture. A hint after you gave up is an answer key. The right moment is the one in the middle: you are on the question, you are trying to remember the card, you are talking it through. That is when a nudge sticks.
When Luma speaks
On a quiz. You are looking at the live question. Ask for a hint, not the answer. Ask what you are probably missing. Luma helps you reason through it. It will not spoil the item.
On a flashcard. The job is retrieval — you do the remembering. Luma nudges. It does not read the back of the card out loud and call that teaching.
While you study a topic. Sometimes you need a way in, not a hint. Study mode is for that: explain this like I am new, what should I focus on first, quiz me on the key ideas. Still questions. Still your thinking.
In StudyBlast. The same set is a game on the phone. You play the question. Practice is the loop. You do not paste the worksheet into a chatbot.
The words we mean
Nudge. A small push toward the next thought. Not the finished line.
Hint, not the answer. The student asked to stay in the struggle. Luma respects that.
Retrieval. You remember it. That is how it stays.
A little productive struggle. Too easy and nothing lands. Too hard and you quit. The right time is that thin middle.
Talk it through. Say what you think is going on. Luma answers with a better question when that is what you need.
Find the gap. Not a dump of the chapter. The one thing you are not seeing yet.
What this is not
This is not an answer machine with a friendly voice. It is not a lecture that talks over the homework. Teachers and parents still review the set before anyone else sees it. Luma sits next to that set. It does not replace it.
Most AI thinks instead of the student. Luma is there so they think better — at the moment it actually counts.
